TRAINING

About the Trainer: Tracy Schumann

I started training dogs in the year 2000. I was living in Chicago, IL working in the school system. I went to Leader Dogs for the Blind for a 3 day seminar. I fell in love with the place and applied for a job. I went back to Chicago and finished out the school year then moved to Michigan and started working at Leader Dogs. (I had moved ahead of my husband to Chicago, he was finishing up at Auburn University. I called him and said "Honey meet me in Detroit instead of Chicago.")

I was at Leader Dogs for 3 years. When I first started I did not know a thing about dogs except that they were cute, and gave unconditional love. Leader Dogs opened up a whole new world for me. I have not gone back to the school system again, but furthered my career, knowledge, and love for the four legged best friend.
