Trapper John

Trapper John is named after the character in M*A*S*H. That is Jon's and my favorite show. Trapper does live up to his name sake, he gets into all kinds of trouble. He has already made his place here in the shop, the customers are enjoying watching him grow up and enjoy the stories of his encounters. Trapper is still only a puppy at this time, so I can not wait until he reaches his adulthood! He is already in training for his therapy work, and soon we will be starting agility.

Maxium was rescued 5 years ago from a pet store in Detroit,Mi. He had Luxating Patellas--his kneecaps would pop out of place. Since his surgery to correct that problem he is doing just fine. The breeder was going to euthanize him because they could not sell him. I talked with the breeder and he handed Maxium over to me. Maxium does not like to be groomed, but unfortunately he is my "creative palete". When customers come in, most do not know that I have him because he sleeps under the desk, they will ask to see him and see what he has "drawn on him". His beard represents his attitude, he has a big dog complex. He is also titled in Rally and a certified Therapy Dog. During the school year he goes to Jacksonville Library and chidren read to him, and when time allows he will go to a local retirement home to see the residents.

IN MEMORY

Pete was a toy poodle that Jon I fostered for 1 year and 4 months for the Anniston Animal Shelter. He was Deaf/Blind, had only 1 K9 tooth and a few back teeth, had congestive heart failure, and did not like other dogs. He would only sleep on something soft. One memory that will last of him is that he would not laydown on anything hard, at any given time I would find him in a chair, on a pillow, on clothes, even on our bed, but never the floor. Pete became another mascott here in the shop, he had his own play pen because if left out he would mark everything in sight. Pete Joined Bailey at the Rainbow Bridge on Febuary 27, 2009.
BAILEY

Bailey was adopted by Jon and I in 2002 from Leader Dogs for the Blind. She did not pass her physical to be a guide dog, so we took her into our home. She was a great dog, loving, devoted, and to be a golden she was very protective of me. I loved her dearly, she was the mascot of THE FOUR PAWS. When dogs would get out of control in training classes she would bark and they would all calm down and sit or lay down. She was a mother figure of dogs in the shop. On December 23, 2008 Bailey's spirit is now at Rainbow Bridge, her hips and elbows are no longer bothering her and she can now see at night perfectly. We all loved her very much and miss her every day.
